What is Pilates?
The Pilates Method was named after it's creator Joseph Hubertus Pilates (1880-1967). It includes over 500 controlled, precise movements executed on a mat or with special equipment designed to develop the body uniformly.
The system focuses on your core muscles, which includes stomach, back and buttocks with an emphasis on muscular-skeletal balance, proper breathing and spinal alignment. It is designed to stretch and strengthen muscle without adding bulk.
It requires concentration, thus working the body and mind.
